Excalibur
Excalibur was sculpted by Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig and introduced in earthenware china in 2000. He is a small 1:12 scale, or in plastic model horse terminology, Classic scale. Excalibur represents a light draft stallion and is the first of many of Sarah's sculptures that Joanie would produce in ceramic. Joanie finished a run of 20 lilac roan Excaliburs, as well as two customs, a bay and a dapple grey; Sarah finished seventeen artist choice customs, all in different colors. Lesli Kathman also finished a couple. (The bay in the top row might be Joanie's, but Joanie is unsure.) All together 38 Excaliburs were made. Click on the pictures below for larger views.
