Galatea

Galatea was sculpted by Kristina Lucas Francis and was introduced in earthenware ceramic in 1997. She represents a Spanish mustang mare and is 1:12 scale, or Breyer Classic scale. Kristina sculpted her specifically for DaBar Enterprises to produce in resin, Joanie helped out by making  a mold and a hard bisque master to submit to DaBar for moldmaking. And since Joanie and Kristina now had a ceramic mold, they figured they might as well make a few ceramic castings as well. A handful of these have found their way into collectors' hands. Click on the pictures below for larger views.
The appaloosa above was a collaboration between Joanie and Kristina.
Photos are by Joanie Berkwitz, with the exception of the one of the chestnut overo, which is by Y. Hallein. Thank you!!
