Lirico
Lirico was sculpted by Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig and introduced in fine bone china in 2003. He represents an Iberian stallion and is 1:12 scale, or Classic scale in plastic model horse terminology. He was the second release in the Marcherware line, a collaboration between Joanie and Mark Farmer of Alchemy Ceramics in England, in which Mark cast the pieces and Joanie finished them. Joanie painted fifty bay Liricos and three Liricos of each in the following custom colors: mulberry grey, grulla, satin white, dun, liver chestnut, red chestnut, bay pinto, buckskin and palomino. In addition there was one dark bay test piece and three bisques for other artists to finish. Click on the pictures below for larger views.
