Resinware
A lesser known fact: before Joanie and Kristina Lucas Francis started making ceramic sculpture, they were active in the Renaissance Faire world. They sculpted and cast a number of small resin giftware items to sell at Faires but did not find this profitable, luckily for the model horse hobby! All of these were produced in 1994 and 1995. Click on the pictures below for larger views.
Above left, Modest Bodice pins. Fairegoers had the option to have them painted to match their own costumes. Center and left, Stock Boy pins. The one in the center is affectionately known as Jean-Luc Picard. These were sculpted by Joanie.
Left, Gargoyle pin, center Green Man pin. Right, Gregory the Gargoyle. These were also sculpted by Joanie.
Above left and center, resin roping calf sculpted by Kristina. Needless to say this wasn't a Ren Faire item.
More Ren Faire pins. Center, "The Weeper", sculpted by Joanie.
Photos are by Joanie Berkwitz with the exception of the (non Jean-Luc) Stock Boy pin and the Gargoyle pin, whcih is by E.LaRose, and "Gregory", which is by L. Dean. Thank you ladies!!
